This time in the cycle of the seasons is a time of balance in the energies that feed life and that feed emotion. The light and the dark feel at peace with one another and then kiss joyfully with their opposite as the light passes onward to regain its strength and prominence on the planet known as Earth, a child of the All.

Embrace your loved ones or your loneliness at this time of year. Just as some of us are gifted with the light, others of us are gifted with the dark. Without the both in existence and strength we cannot ever come to appreciate the rarest gift, that of balance.

The light of the yuletide is a cold white light for some. For others it is a warm yellow light. No matter, it is still a light, a guide and an internal propellant to deeper knowing of ourselves and others.
