Many people want to ask the spirit guides about this feeling that they get, as if they have lost or forgotten themselves. Forgotten who they are, lost their understanding of themself.

Here is the reply of one spirit guide, Gretchen:

I cannot tell you where to “find yourself” per se. But know that all those who feel themselves “lost” can indeed be found.

Know that you have the power always to overcome anything.

It is your own light that guides your way, by any name that you call it. I am you. The Goddess is you. The Buddha is you. The trees of nature are you. Look for yourself in your dreams as they are spun from the core of what is you.

I believe also that we can sometimes find ourselves in others, though some would caution against this. They are fearful and untrusting, even though they believe themselves to be wise.

The danger is only in finding oneself through another and then coming to believe that you cannot be you if separated from the other. Once you are found you cannot be so easily lost and we are never truly separate from each other at any time, even from those that we would consider strangers.

We are all together one energy. We can find someone simply by letting our minds sail freely through the world of energy and drawing closer to the part of that energy that is the one we seek.

To find yourself you must draw closer to your own true energy. Meditate, walk, dream, be aware, give when you would wish to receive, share love, create, feed your soul, work with animals and stones, scents and colors.

Just as there is balance in what often seems a chaotic world so too is there balance within you at all times. Soak in a warm bath or lie in the tall grass and go there, to your balance. You are here for a purpose whether great or small.

In times of trouble take solace in knowing that there is a purpose for you, take solace in your balance and in your own strength as a creative energy. We create for ourselves what we are at all times and for many reasons.

You have chosen to lose yourself, the next stage begins with the finding.
